Oil Change

(Depicted are areas that are serviced during the recommended 1000 mile service for a 2010 Touring model.)


Regular service is the key to keeping your H-D® motorcycle operating at its peak.
Let us walk you through it!

1. Lubricated the fuel door, Tour-Pack® carrier, and saddlebag hinges, latches, and locks.

2. Inspect battery condition, cables, and charging system output.

3. Lubricate clutch cable. Ensure proper cable adjustment and hand lever free play.

4. Inspect spark plugs. Ensure proper gas setting.

5. Inspect and lubricate brake and clutch hand levers.

6. Inspect front brake reservoir for fluid condition and proper level.

7. Check operation of all electrical equipment, lighting, and controls.

8. Check tightness of all critical fasteners.

9. Lubricate steering head bearings. Ensure proper adjustment.

10. Inspect front tire tread depth and air pressure; adjust as needed. Check torque of all spokes (if equipped).

11. Inspect front brake pads and discs. Ensure pad thickness is within specification. Inspect front brake lines for leaks, contact, or abrasions.

12. Inspect air cleaner element. Clean or replace as needed.

13. Remove and replace oil filter. Inspect condition. Tighten to specification.

14. Inspect rear brake reservoir for fluid condition and proper level.

15. Road test - verify component and system functions.

16. Check for open recalls, product campaigns, trouble codes, and engine management system updates.

17. Drain and replace engine oil; examine condition. Replace drain plug o-ring and torque to proper specification. Ensure proper oil level at operating temperature.

18. Inspect oil lines for leaks, contact, or abrasions.

19. Drain and replace transmission lubricant. Examine fluid condition. Replace drain plug o-ring and torque to proper specification.

20. Inspect fuel lines and fittings for leaks, contact, or abrasion.

21. Inspect and adjust drive belt. Inspect wheel compensator sprocket.

22. Inspect rear tire tread depth and air pressure; adjust as needed. Check torque of all spokes (if equipped).

23. Inspect exhaust system for leaks, cracks, and loose or missing fasteners or exhaust shields.

24. Inspect rear brake pads and disc. Ensure pad thickness is within specification. Inspect rear brake line for leaks, contact, or abrasions.

25. Drain and replace primary chaincase lubricant; inspect condition. Replace drain plug o-ring and torque to proper specification.

26. Inspect clutch assembly adjustment. Ensure adjuster screw free-play and locknut torque.

27. Check rear air suspension pressure, operation, and leakage.

28. Inspect and lubricate jiffy stand.
